Well done to Lloyd, Libby, Rhys, Nicholas, Joe, Faye and Adam on all winning medals at the Pembrokeshire Judo championships. It was the first competition for most of the juniors and they did extremely well. A special mention must go to Jay Ashby who was outstanding and won all his 5 fights by ippon and winning a gold medal against some stiff competition. The seniors who competed also did very well as it was the first competition for most of them. Will Parry and Liam Isles gave very good accounts of themselves against much higher grades and Rhys Williams won 3 out of 5 fights and just missed out on a bronze medal. This was a very tough group and they all acquitted themselves well. In the heavier weights Luke Thomas fought extremely well against much higher grades beating a couple on the way to winning a bronze medal. Vladimir Sidarenko won a gold medal in the 90kgs+ category with a typical bullish display, winning all his fights by ippon. Well done to you all. You are a credit to Imperial Judo on and off the mat. |
